You have found The Shanny Pants Show! Although I am most often recognized for my ridiculously comedic fashion and makeup tutorials on my social medias, I also have a deeper side. I have been learning, growing and recovering so much in the last couple of years, and I'm thrilled to bring you along on my journey as I continue to break the mold that I've been living in for far too long.
I am so fortunate to have the privilege of interviewing some movers and shakers who are encouraging my healing process through sharing their own stories. I speak with many who have suffered through challenges I myself have been through such as living in a cult, infertility, foster care, adoption and mental health illness.
I have experienced first hand how the stories of others have impacted me in my journey of healing. I'm honored to bring these stories to you all in hopes that you, too can learn, grow and heal, and also to remind us all that we are not alone. Welcome to the Shanny Pants Show.
Shannon Payton, known as Shanny Pants by many, is a content creator and podcaster living in Rocklin, California. Although Shannon has a successful career as a Realtor, she has equally enjoyed her hobby of sharing her humor through Instagram with friends and family. In 2020 her video about making school lunches went viral, it opened a whole new world for her. She now has many viral videos and hundreds of thousands of social media followers.
Shannon created the @officialshannypants and ShannyPants handles on multiple social media platforms. As she shared her humor and struggles through social media she realized the need to connect deeper with her followers. She felt that a podcast would give her this ability.
Her podcast, The ShannyPants Show is currently in its second season. In her interview style podcast, Shannon shares her struggles of growing up in a cult, battles through years of infertility that ended in a hysterectomy and finally her journey to parenthood through foster care and adoption.
She enjoys sharing the struggles of life in a humorous way as part of her self-prescribed therapy and through this, has connected with her fans. Her podcast topics include a wide range of subjects which in one way or another relate to something she has been through.
Shannon has been a guest on The Kelly Clarkson show and has appeared on local TV show GoodDay Sacramento multiple times. Shannon is currently writing a memoir and is looking forward to giving her followers a deeper look into her life. When Shannon is asked where she gets all of her ideas for her humorous videos she sarcastically states, “I’m married and have kids, that’s all the inspiration I need for some crazy content”.

When is a breakdown a breakthrough? When it convinces someone who has "soldiered through" deeply-challenging life events and depression that it's ok to take off the mask and ask for help and support.
In today's episode, when a social-media influencer known for her jokes and sarcasm "gets real" about life's challenges, including her depression, her post touches a nerve and goes viral. Now, in addition to being funny, Shannon (aka @OfficialShannyPants) talks online about her mental health, therapy, meds, and the need to reach out for help and support when needed.
Non-Denominational Christianity. Sounds innocent enough, and for many non-denominational churches, it is. But for others, the non-affiliation creates a dangerous pathway to a choose your own adventure “religion.”
We talk about all things motherhood, expectations, women ideals, and what it means to be a mum.
Thank you Shanny Pants for starting the conversation and making us all laugh
Think you might be in a cult? Want to know the signs? Join Sarah Edmondson and Anthony “Nippy” Ames to talk about things that are...a little bit culty. Or in their case: a whole bunch of culty. As whistleblowers documented in the critically-acclaimed HBO series “The Vow,” Sarah and Nippy have a lot to say about their experience, and burning questions to ask people with similar stories. They’re here to help people understand, heal from, and avoid abusive situations one little red flag at a time. Listen in as they share their stories, have frank and unscripted conversations with other survivors and cult experts, and do a deep dive on how devotion can turn to dysfunction.
